My First Ever Nude Boat Cruise

Reading time: 5 minutes

On Saturday 25 November 2023, I had the pleasure of experiencing my first ever nude boat cruise!

Organised by the Queensland Naturist Association (QNA), and the first event of its kind for the club, there were 54 attendees…a great turnout and a sold out event!

I had a 50 minute drive from the northern rivers of NSW to the northern end of the Gold Coast…and with some heavy traffic, I was running a little late.

After arriving at the marina and getting a little lost, I finally found my friend (and videographer for the day), Eddie and, with the help of Dave (Secretary of QNA), we were escorted to the boat.

My friend (and videographer for the day) Eddie and I ready for a day of nude sailing.

Alas…I made it in time for departure! Heck, I wasn’t even the last one to arrive…even though I was sure I was going to be. Phew!

So, I jumped aboard the boat and got myself organised for a day of nude sailing…and a day of filming the nudie adventure!

The boat had on it a bar (with bar staff), toilets and a bathroom, an inside and outside area and ample seating. And whilst the boat had a 70 person capacity, I think 54 attendees was a good number; otherwise we would have ended up like a bunch of nude sardines!

We departed from Mariner’s Cove Marina on the Gold Coast just a little after 10am. The boat crew, to begin with, shared safety instructions for our journey and gave us a little rundown as to how the day and our itinerary would work. As much as all of us nudies were itching to get our clothes off, we were instructed by the boat crew that we were to stay clothed until we had left the marina and crossed the bar.

Me patiently waiting to take my clothes off…

So, patiently, we waited and got chatting with one another. A lot of the attendees knew each other as most of them were already members of QNA and had, most likely, already met at previous QNA events. I’d met a few of the attendees at various other naturist events and even knew some from my naked yoga classes. I met a lot of new faces and did my utmost best to remember names!

After a little time, we’d finally crossed the bar and it was a race to get the clothes off. Finally, the real nude boat cruise had begun!

As soon as we were given the ok, the clothes came straight off!

And whilst the boat crew remained completely clothed, they were super professional and made us feel right at home…on a boat and in our birthday suits!

Me ordering an orange juice from one of the clothed boat crew at the bar.

We had a mainly overcast day for the cruise but, most importantly, we had warm temperatures and steady sailing conditions.

As much as I would have loved it if the entire day was all play, I was also there to work…filming an episode for my series ‘My Nudie Adventures’. So, I whipped out my camera to film as much of my experience as I could…whilst still trying to enjoy some leisurely time too.

It wasn’t all play for this one…I was also there to work and film my experience.

Whilst many people knew I was going to be filming at the event, it was also a great conversation starter with those who didn’t.

I was so surprised at how everyone was so cool with me filming, almost everyone consenting to being filmed completely uncensored.

It’s really so rare to be in a group of nude people that size and have almost everyone agree to be filmed. So I’m really grateful for the QNA members’ open-mindedness and willingness to be filmed. Being able to show a group of nudists in this way is a great and authentic representation of the lifestyle and something I feel is important in helping to normalise the lifestyle and educate the public about it. Showing it in this way is how we remove the stigma from the lifestyle.

So thank you again to QNA and its amazing members for allowing me to film.

As we sailed around the Broadwater, we had the occasional onlookers who were enjoying their very own boat ride or jet ski race. Whilst onlookers were a little surprised to see a boat full of nude humans, they cheered us on and showed some love. There was also the odd occasion where an onlooker would pull out their phone to capture the ‘spectacle’, but they didn’t seem to mind and nor did we. Nudists and textiles, peacefully co-existing out on the open waters of the Gold Coast! Just the way it should be!

We made a pit stop and weigh-anchored where attendees were able to jump out and have a skinny dip! Around half of the attendees enjoyed some time in the water, while the other half remained socialising on the boat.

During the pit stop, rather than jumping out, I decided to get my drone up to capture some awesome footage of the boat and all of us on it. I was able to get amazing views of the Gold Coast skyline and footage of us nudies enjoying ourselves at the front of the boat.

Lunch time rolled around. At $90(AUD) a ticket, finger foods and lunch were provided; attendees only having to purchase alcoholic beverages if they were so inclined.

After lunch, a ‘best bum’ competition was hosted for those who wished to participate and take part in the shenanigans. There were even mini trophies presented to the respective winners! Honestly, I hid at the back of the boat where I was just happy to be an onlooker.

After the awards, I got right back to work and interviewed QNA’s ‘club historian’, Anita, for my video. We talked all things club history, club etiquette, becoming a QNA member, the nude boat cruise and her journey into the nudist lifestyle.

And, as our interview came to an end, so too did the nude boat cruise.

As we headed back in toward the marina, we were instructed to put our clothing back on and slowly, and maybe even a little hesitantly, did so.

On our way back in, we were greeted with those stunning views of the Gold Coast skyline.

What a day with an amazing and open-minded group of people. It truly is so cool at how this lifestyle can bring together such a diverse array of people from all walks of life. And it’s so nourishing to be surrounded by such people.

Pricasso, Eddie and I.

And last but not least, a big thank you to QNA for inviting me along and embracing me with open arms…you guys are awesome!

With their first nude boat cruise being such a hit, QNA intends to make this an annual event. So, see you at the next one!
